Resurfacing, called asphalt overlay, is a process in which damaged asphalt is repaired by paving on top of the existing asphalt.
Before laying new asphalt on top of the old, the existing pavement must be milled and shaved into a more even and suitable surface, while also grinding down the surface to match the landscape around it. Problem spots are typically removed or patched. An adhesive is applied to the cleaned pavement, and then the new asphalt is ready to be laid on top. An asphalt overlay is a great option for repairing damaged asphalt, because it is significantly cheaper than a completely new installation, and it usually takes much less time. |
